A long-sleeved T-shirt giveaway, a drawing for a $500 Monmouth Mall shopping spree and Family Fun Day will complement Sunday’s New Jersey Thoroughbred Festival at Monmouth Park. 

The 10-race New Jersey Thoroughbred Festival features three stakes races: The $60,000 New Jersey Breeders’ Handicap, the $60,000 Charles Hesse III Handicap and the $60,000 Eleven North Handicap. 

A long-sleeved t-shirt will be available for each paid admission while supplies last. Patrons will receive a redemption coupon at the admission gates and can redeem those coupons for their t-shirts outside the Grandstand commissary or in the old Clubhouse Welcome Center. 

Fans will also receive an entry form at admission gates for a chance to win a $500 Monmouth Mall shopping spree. Entry forms can be deposited in bins at either of the two Grandstand Welcome Centers – the Finish Line Welcome Center or the Picnic Area – and a bin near the Clubhouse Welcome center. 

Entries close following the 5th race and the winner will be chosen after the 6th race at the Finish Line Welcome Center. 

The winner does not have to be present to win but the prize must be claimed before Sept. 9. 

Family Fun Day will also be part of the Sunday festivities, with free clowns, face painters, pony rides and a bounce house for children 12 and under. 

Musical entertainment will be provided by The Kootz, who will perform “On the Green” from noon to 4 p.m.
