Simulcast Series Invitational

Monmouth Park will hold a Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 17, with free admission, free parking and food specials throughout the day to complement a racing card that will be headlined by the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks, it was announced today.

“Haskell Day was obviously not what we wanted it to be or expected it to be this year, and we want our fans to know that we truly appreciate their patience during a difficult day as well as their continued support of Monmouth Park,” said Dennis Drazin, Chairman and CEO of Darby Development LLC, operators of Monmouth Park. “This is our small way of expressing our appreciation and saying thank you once again to all of our customers.”

The abbreviated Haskell Day program saw Maximum Security turn in a memorable performance with a 1¼-length victory over Mucho Gusto in the $1 million, Grade 1 event that is annually the highlight of Monmouth Park’s racing season.

Jaywalk, the 2018 2-year-old champion filly trained by John Servis, is expected to head the field for the 95th running of the $150,000 Monmouth Oaks on Fan Appreciation Day.

Owned by Len Green’s D.J. Stable and Cash is King, Jaywalk is coming off a victory in the Grade 3 Delaware Oaks on July 6 at Delaware Park. She has banked more than $1.6 million in her career.

This year’s racing schedule at Monmouth Park runs through Oct. 27.
