Isabella Sings Impresses In Miss Liberty Victory

Oceanport, N.J. – Siena Farm LLC’s Isabella Sings sat off the early speed before angling out for the stretch drive and posting a length and a half victory in the $75,000 Miss Liberty Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday before a crowd of 18,147.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Isabella Sings went the mile over firm turf in a quick 1:33 3/5 and paid $4.20, $3.20 and $2.80 as the favorite in the field of 10 fillies and mares.Seeking Treasure rallied from the back of the pack to complete the $49.60 exacta and paid $7.20 and $4.60.It was nearly another length back to Miss Atomic Bomb, who returned $5.80 to show.

“When she broke, I let her decide if she wanted to go to the front,” said winning jockey Paco Lopez.“We got in a good spot right behind the lead.She sat comfortably on the backstretch.I had to check once on the turn, but she was good once we got to the outside and she had a good amount left at the end.”

A homebred 4-year-old by Eskendereya from the Lomitas mare Isobel Baillie, the graded stakes winning Isabella Sings now has a record of 5-4-0 from 14 career starts, good for earnings of $391,950.
