Guarino Wins Invitational, Squillante Takes Qualifier; Both Headed to NHC

Monmouth Park’s held its first NHC Qualifier of 2021 as well as the Invitational of the Simulcast Series on Saturday, May 22. The Invitational winner was Joseph Guarino of Rumson, NJ. Al Squillante of Ocean, NJ captured the top spot in the $300 NHC Qualifier.
Guarino bested a field that included 55 entries. He turned his starting $200 bankroll into $1,232.80 by betting races from Belmont, Gulfstream and Pimlico. Invitational players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $20 per race.
Squillante bested a field that included 106 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $1,441.40 by betting races from Belmont, Gulfstream and Pimlico. NHC Qualifier players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first in the Invitational, Guarino is headed to Vegas for the 2022 NHC. Second-place Invitational finisher Brian Fairlie is also headed to NHC 2022. Squillante takes home a cash prize of $3,950. In addition, he and second-place finish Robin Buser are also headed to the NHC.
