Monmouth Park held a $300 NHC/PYP qualifier on Saturday, May 13, and Fiore Esposito of Monroe, N.J., finished in the top spot with a total of $1,740.

Esposito bested a field that included 132 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Monmouth Park, Belmont and Gulfstream.  Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.

By finishing first, Esposito takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,150.   Esposito also won a seat into the 2024 National Horseplayers Championship.  Second-place finisher John Gaspar will be joining Esposito on his NHC trip – while Patrick Grippo and Stelios Kandias earned seats to the June 3 $2,000 Pick Your Prize Handicapping Challenge by way of their respective third and fourth-place finishes.
