Monmouth Park held the final $300 NHC qualifier of the 2021-22 contest season on Saturday, January 8 and Lou Filoso of Ocean, NJ finished in the top spot with a total of $1,196.75.

Filoso bested a field that included 115 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Aqueduct, Gulfstream and Tampa Bay.  Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.

By finishing first, Filoso takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,875.   With second-place finisher David Wolff already having his two seats to the NHC, Filoso and third-place finisher Anthony Montedoro will be headed to Vegas at the end of the month.
