Devanathan Murugesan Wins $250 NHC Qualifier

The $250 NHC Qualifier held Sunday, July 28 at Monmouth Park was won by Devanathan Murugesan of East Windsor, NJ.
Murugesan bested a field that included 126 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $1,732 by betting races from Monmouth Park and Saratoga. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, Murugesan takes home the first-place cash prize of $3,550. Two NHC seats were awarded Sunday and they went to Murugesan and Bill Rendino.
Monmouth Park’s next handicapping contest is coming up on Saturday, August 24. The $500 Super Qualifier contest will award at last six seats to the 2020 NHC and two seats to the 2019 BCBC.
