DeLucia Takes 1st Prize in NHC Qualifier; McIntyre, Rogers Also Headed to Vegas

Monmouth Park’s $500 NHC Qualifier was held on Saturday, August 29 and Darren DeLucia of Cooper City, FL finished in the top spot.
DeLucia bested a field that included 124 entries. He turned his starting $300 bankroll into $3,000.30 by betting races from Monmouth Park and Saratoga. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $30 per race.
By finishing first, DeLucia takes home the first-place cash prize of $5,260. Along with second-place finisher Cheryl McIntyre and third-place finisher Pete Rogers, DeLucia has earned a seat in the 2021 National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas.
