Monmouth Park’s $800 Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, August 23 saw Clay Sanders atop the leaderboard.

Sanders’ $7,773.75 bankroll was best of 244 total entries. As a result of finishing seventh with his second entry, Sanders exited Saturday’s contest with a prize haul made up of a  Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge seat, a National Horseplayers Championship seat and $16,544.

In total, Saturday’s contest awarded four BCBC seats, three seats to the NHC and $40,476 cash.

Contest players could participate on-site at Monmouth or online using TVG/4NJBETS, Xpressbet and HPI. All players needed to wager a minimum of $80 on five Monmouth Park races. All Monmouth and Saratoga races were available for optional plays. Available wagering pools were win, place, show, exacta and daily double.
