Chuck O’Mara Wins June 4 NHC Qualifier

On the day after its $2,000 Pick Your Prize Handicapping Challenge, Monmouth Park held a $300 NHC qualifier on Sunday, June 4, and Chuck O’Mara of Nutley, N.J., finished in the top spot with a total of $2,060.50.
O’Mara bested a field that included 105 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Monmouth Park, Belmont and Gulfstream. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, O’Mara takes home the first-place cash prize of $5,375. O’Mara also won a seat into the 2024 National Horseplayers Championship. Second-place finisher Michael Samples will be joining O’Mara on his NHC trip.
