On the day after the $2,000 Pick Your Prize Handicapping Challenge, Monmouth Park held a $300 NHC qualifier on Sunday, June 1, and Chuck O’Mara of Nutley, NJ, finished in the top spot with a total of $1,326.90.

O’Mara bested a field that included 117 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Monmouth Park, Churchill Downs and Gulfstream.  Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.

By finishing first, O’Mara takes home the first-place cash prize of $5,025 plus a seat into the 2026 National Horseplayers Championship.  Second-place finisher Pat Nufrio will be joining O’Mara on his NHC trip.
