Bat Cave Bests Foes in Friday Feature at Monmouth

Oceanport, N.J. – Patrick Rochette’s Bat Cave wore down Unruly Heir in the final eighth of a mile to post a nearly length victory in the $50,000 allowance feature for New Jersey-bred runners at Monmouth Park on Friday.

Trained by Jane Cibelli and ridden by Paco Lopez, his third on the card, Bat Cave covered the 5 ½ furlongs over the fast main track in 1:05.79 and paid $8, $3.40 and $2.80.Unruly Heir completed the $28.80 exacta and paid $4 and $3.20.It was another length and a quarter back to Scobeyville, who paid $4.80 to show.

A 6-year-old gelding by Don Six from the Sunny’s Halo mare Redito Roll Sonny, Bat Cave sports a record of 6-11-5 from 53 career starts.
