Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo Arrives At Monmouth Park In Advance Of Saturday’s Grade 1 NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes

July 12, 2026

Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo arrived at Monmouth Park on Sunday in advance of Saturday’s NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes, disembarking from a Sallee horse van at 10:25 a.m. before settling into Barn 21 after walking the shedrow.

The two-time Grade 1 winner shared the van ride from Belmont Park with Dry Powder, who will go in the Grade 2, $500,000 Molly Pitcher Stakes on Saturday’s Haskell undercard.

Both horses are trained by Chad Summers.

Summers said Napoleon Solo will get his first feel for the track at Monmouth Park on Monday.

“We decided we’re going to gallop him up to the race,” said Summers. “He breezed very well on Thursday at Belmont. I’m happy with how he went on Thursday.”

In addition to Napoleon Solo, expected starters for the Grade 1, $1 million Haskell Stakes are Baby Vino, Further Ado, Iron Honor, Ocelli, Star Sweeper and The Puma.

A Kentucky-bred son of Liam’s Map, Napoleon Solo has been idle since winning the Preakness Stakes on May 16. Paco Lopez is scheduled to ride.

Summers said the plan is to keep things low-key for his star colt.

“We’re just going to let him see the sights around here and get comfortable,” Summers said. “Maybe we’ll get a hot dog at Max’s for him.”
