A $300 handicapping contest, offering the choice of a seat in the 2027 NTRA National Horse Players Championship or a spot in the 2026 Pick Your Prize Handicapping Challenge to the top four finishes, will complement Monmouth Park’s opening day card on Saturday.

The total $300 buy-in covers the non-refundable entry fee of $150 and a tournament bankroll of $150.

Contest players must bet a minimum of 10 races, five from Monmouth Park’s eight-race card. There is no maximum to the number of bets.

Races from Belmont-at-Aqueduct and Churchill Downs are part of the contest as well.

The wagering format is win, place and/or show.

Registration will take place inside the Clubhouse entrance near the former Welcome Center on the first floor. Registration will be open from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Based on 125 entries, prize money is expected to be $7,250.

Contest players will be able to wager on any self-service machine.

The start of Monmouth Park’s 81^st season will also feature an “Old Haskell Hat” giveaway at the Festival Drink Stand.

First race post time on Saturdays and Sundays for the 50-day meet is 12:50 p.m. When Fridays are added to the live racing schedule starting on June 26 first race post time those days will be 2 p.m.

Parking is free throughout the meet.
