30-1Pure Bliss Goes Gate To Wire And Holds On By A Head To Win Saturday Night’s Monmouth-At-Mewadowlands Feature Race

October 11, 2025

EAST RUTHERFORD – Pure Bliss, a 30-1 shot, made her turf debut a winning one, bolting immediately to the lead and then holding off three late challenges to win Saturday night’s featured $36,000 Maiden Special Weight race by a head during the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet.

Trained by Jorge Duarte, Jr., the Kentucky-bred daughter of Midshipman proved to be a fortuitous late pick-up mount for jockey Ramon Moya.

No fractions were immediately available.

After making her debut on the dirt at Laurel on Sept. 26, managing to beat just one horse, Pure Bliss went to the front in the field of nine 2-year-old fillies and never faltered.

She had to hold off the late charge of Clarividente on the inside and Rock Etiquette on the outside, with 8-5 favorite Call The Bullpen rallying late to get fourth in the five-furlong turf dash.

Pure Bliss paid $63.60 to win.

Clarividente gained second, a neck ahead of Rock Etiquette.

Pure Bliss was purchased for $35,000 in March by Colts Neck Stables at the Ocala Breeders Sale of 2-year-olds in training.

The Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet concludes its nine-day run on Friday, Oct. 17.

First race post time is 7 p.m.
