Good Long Cry Scores By 1 1/4 Lengths In Friday’s Monmouth-At-Meadowlands Opening Night Feature
September 19, 2025

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Good Long Cry, overmatched in her last start in the Grade 3 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga, benefitted from a stalking trip to score a 1¼-length victory in Friday night’s featured $42,000 allowance on opening night of the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet.
Trained by George Weaver and ridden by Samy Camacho, the 3-year-old daughter of Long On Value recorded her second win in 12 career starts.
Able to sit off the flanks of the front-running Starview Twinkle through pedestrian early fractions, Good Long Cry accelerated in deep stretch to hold off 80-1 shot Saucy Six and the late-running Lady de Berry, who was another neck back in third.
The winning time for the mile and a sixteenth over a firm turf course was 1:44.48.
Starview Twinkle carved out fractions of :25-seconds flat, :50.16 to the half and 1:14.30 through three quarters, unable to shake free of Good Long Cry’s menacing presence.
Starview Twinkle tired late in the final sixteenth and finished fifth in the eight-horse field of fillies and mares, 3 and up.
Good Long Cry paid $3.40 to win.
Racing resumes Saturday night with a six-race all-turf card.
First race post time is 7 p.m.
