EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Omahamoiselle continued her 3-year-old form spree, making a bold move to take the lead entering the final turn and then drawing off to a four-length victory in Friday night’s featured $45,000 allowance optional claimer during the Monmouth at Meadowlands meet.

Ridden by Jose Gomez and trained by Ben Perkins, Jr., the daughter of Omaha Beach easily outclassed her six Jersey-bred fillies and mares, 3 and up, in the mile and a sixteenth race.

After going 0-for-4 as a 2-year-old, failing to even hit the board, Omahamoiselle now has two wins and two seconds from four starts this year, all on the grass.

The winning time over a turf course listed as firm was 1:42.56.

Gomez had Omahamoiselle sitting third through early fractions of :22.97 and :46.45, set by longshot Salt and Light.

Entering the final turn, as Molly’s a Bullet made a move for the lead, Omahamoiselle surged to the front in a matter of strides.

She paid $4 as the favorite.

Omahamoiselle is owned by Angelinos Racing LLC.

Exclusive Champion rallied for second, a head better than Golden Ring.

Saturday’s six-race all-turf card has already been cancelled by management due to the threat of inclement weather and heavy rain.

Racing will resume on Oct. 2.

First race post time is 7 p.m.
