Raymond Mamone’s I Love You Honey set all the fractions before sailing to a neck victory in the $30,000 allowance/optional claiming Columbus Day feature on Monday at the Meadowlands.

Trained by Luis Carvajal Jr. and ridden by Inoel Beato, I Love You Honey covered the mile over “good” turf in 1:40 4/5 and paid $53.80, $21.20 and $13.20.  Hyman Roth, who tried to gun down the pacesetter in the final strides, settled for second, paying $5 and $3.60.  The exacta returned $223.40.  It was another length and a half back to Celebrity Warrior, who returned $13.80 to show.

A 3-year-old gelding by Saint Anddan from the Hunting Hard mare Bernie’s Gold, I Love You Honey sports a record of 2-1-0 from five career starts.

Live racing continues at the Meadowlands on Friday, Oct. 16 – first post 7 p.m.  The 2015 all-turf Meadowlands meet runs through Saturday, Oct. 31 with live racing offered on Fridays and Saturdays.
