Klaravich Stables & W.H. Lawrence’s Strict Compliance wore down pacesetter Isabella Sings in the shadow of the wire to post a nose victory in the Grade 3, $100,000 Boiling Springs Stakes on Saturday at Monmouth Park before a crowd of 12,114.

Trained by Chad Brown, Strict Compliance went the mile and an eighth over firm turf in 1:46 3/5 and paid $5, $2.80 and $2.40 as the 3-2 choice in the field of eight 3-year-old fillies.  Isabella Sings completed the $28.20 exacta and paid $5.60 and $3.60.  It was another three lengths back to Pine Needles, who paid $3 to show.

“I had to move a little earlier than I wanted,” said winning jockey Joe Bravo.  “Paco (jockey Lopez aboard Isabella Sings) did a great job slowing things down up front.  Going into the race, I thought I couldn’t lose.  At the 1/8th pole I wasn’t as sure, but when you ride for Chad Brown you know you’re sitting on a good horse and this filly really kicked it in when it mattered.”

A daughter of Into Mischief from the Grand Slam mare Diva Dyna, Strict Compliance captured her first graded stakes and fourth win overall by taking the Boiling Springs.  She has now banked over $300,000 for her connections.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Sunday, Sept. 6 – gates open 11:30 a.m. first post 12:50 p.m.  Sunday marks day two of the BBQ and Craft Beer Festival which spills over into Monday’s live Labor Day card.
