There was one winning ticket in Monmouth Park’s 20-cent Jersey Shore 6 on Friday, resulting in a jackpot payout of $135,729.22.

The winning ticket was the only one to correctly select the winners of the final six races on the Friday card.

With a carryover of over $106,000 heading into the day’s action, 14-1 shot Winnitude kicked off the sequence by taking the 5th race.  Supah Jalene ($12.80), Celebrity Warrior ($51.20), Chapter and Verse ($5) and Shimmering Cara ($6.20) followed as the next four winners in the sequence.

With one race to go, there was a single horse alive that would result in a jackpot payout – 9-2 shot Giddy, a 4-year-old filly trained by Kathleen Demasi and ridden by Jose Ferrer.

Giddy broke extremely well, then settled just outside of heavy 1-2 favorite Subtle Intent, before wearing down the chalk just before the wire to win by a neck.  Giddy returned $11.20 for a $2 win bet, but significantly more than that for the holder of the winning Jersey Shore 6 ticket.

The Jersey Shore 6 begins anew on Saturday with the day’s first post time at 12:50pm.  Saturday will serve as Day 1 of the three-day BBQ & Craft Beer Festival.
