Crossed Sabres Farm’s Quiet Kitten took the lead at the top of the stretch and never looked back to score a length and a quarter victory in Friday’s $40,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park.

Trained by Marcus Vitali, Quiet Kitten sat perfectly off the pacesetter Red Letter before going three-wide into the far turn and holding off the late challenge of Ansible to seal the win.

Quiet Kitten went the mile over the firm turf course in 1:35 and paid $9.40, $4.40 and $3. Ansible completed the $29.40 exacta and paid $3.40 and $2.60. It was another three and a quarter lengths to Sequiota, who paid $3.40 for show.

“She ran really well all the way around,” said winning jockey Matthew Rispoli. “She ran well last time, but the turf wasn’t favoring closers that day. This seems to be her distance too. She had plenty left in the tank coming down the stretch.”

The 3-year-old filly by Kitten’s Joy out of the Quiet American mare Quiet Alice now spots 5-0-4 record in her 14 career starts, good for earnings of over $90,000.

On Friday, no lone ticket had all six winners in Monmouth Park’s Jersey Shore 6, creating a carryover of $87,028.32 for this Saturday’s card.

The Jersey Shore 6, which is offered daily on Monmouth’s final six races, is a 20-cent wager with a takeout rate of 20%.

On Friday, all six winners paid $617.38 to multiple winners.

Monmouth gates open on Saturday at 11a.m., with first post set for 12:45 p.m.  The Jersey Shore 6 gets underway in the seventh race, approximate post time 3:43 p.m.  Monmouth will offer full-card simulcasting from Saratoga on Saturday, including American Pharoah’s run in the Travers Stakes.
