Glencrest Farm (Lessee) and JSM Equine’s Don’tforgetaboutme sat off the early pacesetter before holding off a late bid from stable mate Tiger Moth to take Friday’s $40,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Don’tforgetaboutme broke perfectly and got into good position on the backstretch before taking the lead at the half mile pole and never looked back to score a length victory.

Don’tforgetaboutme covered the mile and 70 yards in 1:41 3/5 over the fast main track and paid $10.60, $3.40, $2.80. Tiger Moth, the post-time favorite, completed the $19.40 all-Pletcher exacta and paid $2.20 and $2.10. It was another eight and a quarter lengths back to Sweet Henrietta, who paid $5.20 for show.

“The instructions were to break well and let her go,” said winning jockey Abel Castellano Jr. “There was some speed to the inside so we just sat off the leader. I asked her to go a little at the half mile pole and she answered nicely. Once we were in the stretch, I knew she had a lot left because I didn’t ask her for much at all yet.”

The 3-year-old filly by Malibu Moon out of the Rubiano mare Caroni now posts a record of 2-1-0 in her six career starts, good for earnings of over $63,000.

On Friday, no lone ticket had all six winners in Monmouth Park’s Jersey Shore 6, creating a carryover of $65,017.32 for this Saturday’s card.

The Jersey Shore 6, which is offered daily on Monmouth’s final six races, is a 20-cent wager with a takeout rate of 20%.

On Friday, all six winners paid $1,317.06 to multiple winners.

Monmouth gates open on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with first post set for 12:50 p.m.  The Jersey Shore 6 gets underway in the seventh race, approximate post time 3:48 p.m.
