David Jacobson’s Eye Luv Lulu sat off the early speed before storming home along the rail to win Friday’s $41,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park.

Owned and trained by Jacobson, Eye Luv Lulu sat off the early pacesetter in Joe Franklin before finding a hole on the rail and opened up to a 3 ½-length score.

Eye Luv Lulu covered the six furlongs on the fast main track in 1:09 2/5 and paid $12.60, $5.40 and $3.60. Joe Franklin completed the $41.60 all Jacobson exacta and paid $4.60 and $3.60. It was just a nose back to Narvaez, who paid $3.80 to show.

“That is a really nice horse,” said winning jockey Joe Bravo who finished the day with three wins on the card. “I knew I had plenty of horse the entire way. He just answered down the stretch when I asked.”

The 4-year-old gelding by Pollard’s Vision out of the Phone Trick mare  Honky Tonk Trick now sports a record of 5-3-1 in his 18 career starts, good for earnings over $275,000.

On Friday, no lone ticket had all six winners in Monmouth Park’s Jersey Shore 6, creating a carryover of $45,391.27 for this Saturday’s card.

The Jersey Shore 6, which is offered daily on Monmouth’s final six races, is a 20-cent wager with a takeout rate of 20%.

On Friday, all six winners paid $4,184.66 to multiple winners.

Monmouth gates open on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with first post set for 12:50 p.m.  The Jersey Shore 6 gets underway in the seventh race, approximate post time 3:48 p.m.
