Former leading rider Joe Bravo led all jockeys with 12 wins in stakes races run during the meet and Todd Pletcher was the meet’s top stakes-winning trainer with eight victories on the year.  Moreover, Bravo rode half of his stakes winners for Pletcher.

The best day for the rider known as “Jersey Joe” was July 7, when he took the Grade 1 $500,000 United Nations and the Grade 2 $200,000 Monmouth Cup with Rule in back-to-back races for Pletcher. The jockey and trainer also scored with Dancing Solo in the $100,000 Boiling Springs and the $60,000 Little Silver, and aboard Maple Forest in the $75,000 Blue Sparkler and the $60,000 Red Cross.

Bravo won three stakes for trainer Christophe Clement- the $60,000 Lamplighter with Malibu Way, the $60,000 John McSorley with Varsity and the $60,000 Colleen with Funfair. He also rode the victorious Royal Currier (Patricia Farro) in the $100,000 Teddy Drone and the $75,000 Mr. Prospector on Howe Great (Graham Motion) in the $60,000 Jersey Derby.
