OCEANPORT, N.J. – New Jersey native and Monmouth Park fixture Kelly Breen, who saddled Ruler On Ice to win the 2011 Belmont Stakes, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Monday, April 30 as the Lakewood BlueClaws host their Kentucky Derby celebration presented by Monmouth Park.

The 43-year-old Breen has saddled three runners in the Run for the Roses – West Side Bernie and Atomic Rain in 2009 and Pants on Fire in 2011.  All three Derby runners, as well as Belmont champ Ruler On Ice, were owned by fellow Jersey residents George and Lori Hall.

In addition to Breen’s ceremonial first pitch, the festivities for Monday’s 6:35 pm game against the Greenville Drive include a “preview” of the Kentucky Derby called by Monmouth Park track announcer and voice of the Triple Crown, Larry Collmus, as well as a raffle for a Monmouth Park prize package.

A Monmouth Park table will be set up directly behind home plate for Monday’s game distributing daily passes and more.

Tickets for Monday’s game are available by logging on to Lakewood BlueClaws website.
