OCEANPORT, N.J. – No one picked a winning combination in Saturday’s Place Pick 6 at Monmouth Park, creating a carryover of $8,307 for Sunday’s program.
The Place Pick 6 comprises races four through nine, is a 50-cent wager, and has a takeout rate of just 15 percent.
In order to win the wager, a ticket must select a horse to finish either first or second in the Place Pick 6 races. On Saturday, a winning combination would have involved:
Race 4: Slews Big Finale ($6.20, $3.60); Naphtali ($6)
Race 5: My Dreamy Mimi ($12.40, $6.20); Rockport Picture ($26.80)
Race 6: Leadwithyourchin ($10, $5.20); Themanmythnlegend ($6.40)
Race 7: Don Six’s Number ($7.80, $4.80); Salad Girl ($6.40)
Race 8: Basic Trick ($40.20, $25.20); Rojo’s Tune ($45.40)
Race 9: She Digs Me ($10.60, $5.20); Jagati ($7.20), Black Rhino ($5.60) – there was a dead-heat for second in race nine.
The consolation payout for five of six first or second finishers in Saturday’s Place Pick Six was $211.70 for a 50-cent wager.
Gates open at Monmouth Park on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with first post set for 12:50 p.m The fourth race, start of the Place Pick Six, has an estimated post time of 2:20 p.m.
