Bob Farah of Berkeley Heights, NJ catapulted to the front of the leaderboard in Saturday’s Simulcast Series Challenge #2 when Joe Bravo guided Stormy The Cat under the wire to take the nightcap at Gulfstream. With $100 to win and place on the maiden, Bob Farah stormed to the lead with $1,392.50 bankrolled from an original $100 starting bank. John Isolano ($1,378.50) finished second and Mitch Schuman ($1,203) rounded out show.

The day’s contest saw very little change on the leaderboard throughout the day with Robert Cece (5th) and Mitch Schuman (3rd) commanding the top throughout. The contest came down to the final race and with just $212 remaining in his bankroll, Farah went all in.

Saturday’s contest featured a robust field of 279 – the largest simulcast contest ever held at Monmouth. The large field swelled the prize pool to $27,900 with Farah taking the winner’s check of $13,950.

Players began the day with a $100 bankroll. Contest rules required that players wager a minimum of $10 per race, bet one horse per race and bet at least 10 races. Contest wagering was allowed on Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct and Tampa Bay Downs.

Top ten finishers received prize money. Top fifteen advance to the Simulcast Series Challenge Invitational on April 9.
