Wavering Monarch, trained by Rusty Arnold and ridden by Randy Romero, was third choice at 5-2 and paid $7. Aloma’s Ruler, with Angel Cordero Jr. aboard, was second choice at 2-1 and completed the $31.60 exacta. Linkage, the 3-2 favorite mainly because of the presence of Bill Shoemaker in the saddle, finished fifth.
