The type of wagering practiced at Monmouth Park and Meadowlands Racetrack,
known as “pari-mutuel,” comes from the French and means
“amongst ourselves.” At the racetrack, the public bets
against each other, not the racetrack. When
is Monmouth Park open?
On Haskell Day the Monmouth Park gates open 10:00am, The first race is 12:00pm
Monmouth Park is open for live racing beginning May 12 and ending September 2. Gates open 11:30am. First Race is 12:50pm. Weekends only in May. Wednesday through Sunday, July-September. The track
has no live racing on Mondays or Tuesdays and is open seven days
and six nights per week for simulcasting.
What is the dress code at Monmouth
Park?
In the Grandstand building, shirts are to be worn at all times.
In the Clubhouse, proper attire is required: no swim wear, sweats,
tank tops or abbreviated wear. In the Parterres, gentlemen must
wear jackets and appropriate dress is requested of ladies (dresses,
suits, pants – no jeans, cutoff shorts, or beach wear).
Where are the ATM machines?
Valley National Bank ATM machines are located on the first floor
of the Clubhouse and the Grandstand and in the Picnic Area.
What activities are there for
children?
Every Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., is Family Fun Day at Monmouth Park.
Starting on the Green and spreading all the way to the picnic area,
you’ll find clowns, face painters, live music, pony rides,
bounce houses, and more. In addition there is a playground in the
Picnic Area and an arcade on the first floor of the Grandstand.
What are the different types
of wagering?
Monmouth Park offers basic win, place and show betting as well as
exacta, trifecta, superfecta, daily double, pick three and pick

Where is the gift shop located?
The gift shop is located on the first floor of the Grandstand, at
the south end next to the Barber Shop.
Can I purchase photos and videotapes
of races?
Videotapes may be purchased through the Media Relations Department
and photos from Bill Denver of Equi-Photo. Both are located on the
first floor of the Administration Building, adjacent to the paddock.
