Bold Move Propels Pruzinsky into 1st Place in SSC Invitational

After months of qualifying tournaments, the 2014 Simulcast Series Challenge Invitational came to a close on Saturday, April 26. With 80 qualifying players vying for one of two seats to the 2015 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas, players wagered on full cards from Aqueduct, Tampa Bay Downs, and Pimlico Racecourse. Unlike previous contests, players were given a $200 bankroll for the Invitational and were required to wager a minimum of $20 on at least ten races; Win, Place, or Show (or any combination thereof) and on one horse only.

 

Peter Pruzinsky of Wayne, New Jersey took home top honors with a final bankroll of $2,455.60, while Roger Cettina of Rumson, New Jersey also earned a berth in the 2015 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship with his second place finish of $2,300.00.

 

Below are the Top Five players from the Invitational. With an expanded summer schedule of NHC-qualifying contests, Monmouth Park will offer an additional 16 seats to the 2015 NHC throughout the live season including a ten seat Super Qualifier on August 23.
