Singing Sarah continued her resurgence under trainer Philip Aristone, rallying from fifth in a seven-horse field to collar Crazy Daisy in the final 100 feet en route to winning the featured $50,000 allowance for Jersey-breds on Thursday at Monmouth Park.

Since coming into Aristone’s care five races ago, Singing Sarah has two wins and two seconds. The 3-year-old daughter of Scipion-Out of the Will shows a 2-3-3 line overall from 10 career starts.

“I had a feeling this would be her best race because of the way she was coming into it,” said Aristone. “I was surprised she was as far back as she was early on but it worked out. (Jockey) Angel Castillo said he had to wait for a chance to get her out and get her off the rail and once he did she took off.”

Sent off as the 13-10 favorite, Singing Sarah surged past Crazy Daisy in the shadow of the wire to win by a half length. She covered the six furlongs in 1:12.25. It was another 3½ lengths back in third to Cookie Cookie.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Friday with an eight-race card. First post is 1:15 p.m.
