Mr. Amore Stable’s Ribo Bobo headed pacesetter Immortal Eyes around the turn before pulling away from that rival and all the rest to capture the $75,000 Icecapade Stakes at Monmouth Park on Monday by four lengths.

Trained by Jason Servis, Ribo Bobo paid $5.40 and $2.80 after stepping the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:10 flat.  Immortal Eyes completed the $10.80 exacta and paid $2.20.  He Can Run rallied for third with Royal Currier checking in fourth and last.

“With old pros like him, you just let him do what he wants once the gates open,” said winning jockey Gabriel Saez.  “We were able to sit just off the speed and around the turn he went up after them pretty much on his own.  In the stretch, I asked him and he kept going.”

Ribo Bobo, a 5-year-old gelding by Louis Quartorze from the Private Terms mare Private Prom Party has now won seven straight, a streak that dates back to Jan. 9 of this year.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Saturday, Sept. 7 – gates open 11:30 a.m., first post 12:50 p.m.
