Chilkoot Trail Dominates Saturday Feature at The Big M

East Rutherford, N.J. – Chilkoot Trail swept to the lead entering the stretch before crossing the wire a decisive three-length winner in the $37,500 allowance feature at the Meadowlands on Saturday afternoon. 

            Trained by Mary Eppler and ridden by Victor Santiago, Chilkoot Trail covered the mile over firm turf in 1:40 flat and returned $9.60, $5.20 and $3.  Goose Bay rallied to complete the $180.20 exacta and paid $20.80 and $8.60.  It was another 2 ½ lengths back to One For Don, who paid $4.80 to show. 

            A 5-year-old gelding by Gold Fever from the Belong to Me mare Swiftly Tilting, Chilkoot Trail sports a record of 3-1-2 from 17 starts.  The New Jersey-bred races in the colors of Eppler Racing Stable, Inc. and Schwartz.
