Oceanport, N.J. – F and F Stable’s Spring for More made an early move to get beside pacesetter Hersisterisachub before kicking clear at the top of the stretch and holding off a late challenge late Kodiak Kate in Friday’s $50,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park.

Trained by Luis Miranda, Spring for More covered the mile and seventy yards in 1:43.35 and paid $8.40, $3.60, and $2.40 for the length and a quarter victory against the field of seven New Jersey bred fillies and mares. Even-money favorite Kodiak Kate completed the $20.40 exacta and paid $2.80 and $2.10. It was another two lengths back to Twofour Six Oh One, who paid $2.60 to show.

“They were walking up front and I didn’t ask her to go, she just got into good position along the backside,” said winning rider Jose Ferrer. “I wanted to get her to the outside and in the clear because I felt the favorite coming. She had plenty left in the end.”

The 3-year-old by Spring at Last out of the Grindstone mare Grisham boosts her career record to 3-1-3 in 10 starts.

Racing continues at Monmouth Park on Saturday, July 29 with a 10-race card. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. with first post set for 12:50 p.m.
